since putting s/c gears on my 1275 turbo it doesnt seem to have as much grunt when the turbo comes in as it did before,is this because of the gearsor what???

It should have a little more. not that you would notice unless on the RR

maybe because of the different ratios it feels slower

fair enough *smiley* just a thought

must be a "perception" thing then and nothing else. only way to find out really would have been a before and after 1/4 or something like that to gauge performance.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

dan
this may sound silly but have you checked your tyre pressures ???*oh well*

as i have said before give it time to bed in! this will
sapp a few gee gees

also the straight cuts by the nature of the design are more power robbing than helical gears*wink*

turbo heads dont need to be hot, do a search and there was a very long thread about the ins and outs of them

ok then,so i should get a head that is capable of say 10psi when the intercoolers on,but run it on say 8psi until i get the intercooler fitted yey?

or could it be run at a higher psi,say 12psi with a cooler??

stuart, think il put the rollers on hold until i get the head, otherwise itl need doing twice.

another thing, the adjuster nut on the fuel reg is loose, could fuel pressure be something to check, and is 3.5psi the setting it should be at?

fuel press reg 3.5 to 4 psi above boost
so set it static with pump running then it will rise the same above boost

10 psi ish the limit ish with no cooler

add a cooler and its like adding a extra cylinder

same boost but you will will be able to run higher boost figures say to 14 15 ish without detenation

do a search on intercoolers and get genned up dan *wink*

also on compression ratios *wink*

some ones selling intercoolers on
for sale section
