Hi there!

I am searching for any information, advice or installation detail on this particular turbos :
1) GT17
2) TD04
3) MAT25S2 hybrid T25

I have some problems with my t3 turbo unit and garage who can do turbo servicing asked 300 pounds for repair!
So if I need to spend money, than maybe I should spend bit more and go for better one (listed below) rather just repairing my old t3 turbo.
what do you think??

i am just not sure which one to chose, tried to use search but no luck.

Also I think this is very popular question here!

may be to make it easier to compare we can make it by some importance points?

E.G.
first some detail about particular turbo unit
second point performance
third price
fourth additional details needed for installation
fifth installation difficulty level
than price and anything else what you can share with us??

any weblinks, shops where to buy details or turbos??

Or maybe you found even better turbo unit?? :)

Thanks for help!!!!!

Nothing special!

The turbo units you specified are on the large side of power levels, depending of your application you could never put them into efficiency.

You need to precise a bit your build boost/power level target, then it'll be easier to help you.
ex build : 1293/8.5 cr, st2/3 head, mg metro n/a camshaft;phase2 camshaft, flowed exhaust manifold, with 15 psi boost target should make aroud 150 bananas, ie 15lb of air at 2.2 pressure level

I have standard 1275 engine but my t3 turbo needs to be changed so I decide to go for something better!

I want to have nice torque and would be nice to drive it more than 75mph on motorway

also T3 has lot of lag before turning on and its happening aroung 3k-3.5k

so I need turbo unit to turn on around 2.5k and be able to drive nicely on motorway on 70-80mph

I done search but it is quit difficult as usually title does not says what exactly is in it!! tried to search this turbos however I need to go through all topic manually to find more info :(

Also it would be really helpful if someone would introduce me what kind modifications i need to do if i go for GT17 or MAT25S2 hybrid T25 as I found that they are more what I am after!
maybe can buy ready kit to just make swap from T3 to one of this turbos??

Thank you

The closest thing to a 'kit' would be one of matty's manifolds and oil drain. I don't think anyone is offering a downpipe yet, so you'll have to make one. The oil feed will need changing/modifying and the actuator bracket will need making.

Have a read through Roberts gt17 thread. There are also a few epics in my build thread that show my amateur effort.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Thank you!

shame that there are no swap kits in sale as I am living in flat and it is impossible to do something :(

Ok will need to stick with standard t3 for now :(
