installed my MED triggerwheel and sensorbracket .
its an undermounterd bracket wich isn't 90 degrees from the keyway when engine is at tdc. In fact its more.

I know that, when Engine is on TDC i have to cut the tooth out at 90 degrees clockwise of the pickup.

But...........
The sensor is exactly at the downside of a tooth... how do i start counting to remove the correct tooth in the trigger wheel????

thanks

It depends what the settings are in the ECU of choice. usually a VR sensor is set for 'rising edge' which is the approach of a tooth. 'falling edge' is the retreat of a tooth.

Looking at the picture, if the engine is indeed at true TDC, then the tooth is set at rising edge to the sensor.

In any case, we are only really talking about 5 degrees max variation, as long as you remove the correct tooth, 90 degrees away. any variation should be easily offset in the sttings of your chosen ECU, and it is always advised to check the actual sensor offset with a strobe light, before running the engine.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
