Hello and welcome to my first Turbo'd Mini.

In 2009 I rebuild my 1972 Saloon with a standard 1275 A+. I soon got bored and built and installed a longstroke 1350cc with Vmax Supercharger kit. It developed 120bhp and ran 15sec 1/4's. After a while I decided the route to more power was definatley Turbo. So I sold the charger kit, took the car off the road and ever since have been planning and collecting parts to build a 150bhp+ lightweight weekend warrior.

Im now ready to piece it all together and have a deadline of Avonpark 2011

Here are some picture after I completed the restoration in 2009

Then later that year I fitted the Charger and Nos

Now I've just got the car back after having interior painted and ready to start the build

Planned Finished spec -

Lightweight shell 560-570kg
1293 A+ 8-1CR
36 x 32 29.5cc Med FIS Head or Alloy 7 port on Injection with Emarald ECU
Cast 10cc Omega Pistons
Mirage Manifold
Hybrid Turbo T2/T28
Med Block, Top spec Crank, worked Rods
Med Ultralight billet flywheel, alloy backplate
SCCR Box and drops
ATB Diff
Safety devices Cage
Carbon Panels
Custom Fuel Cell and Intercooler
Poly windows
Mega Jolt
Force Racing Wheels
Full KAD Treatment
Custom Loom, Evodash and Aem Gauges
Wizard of Nos system with controller
etc.

More Pictures to follow

Mine looks just like that on the exterior, have got to say yours is a much cleaner example, that engine spec is sweet
what boost you planning on running?

Planning on running 12psi for eveyday use. Maybe 18-20psi for the strip. Hoping for 200 bhp with nitrous. Turbo should be good for over 22 psi but I guess ill just have see how it works out.

Guys correct me if I'm wrong please, 20-22 psi sort area should see very close to 200bhp anyway without nos I would've thought on that high spec engine

I'll not be running much Nitrous, maybe 30bhp just to help reduce lag from the bigger T28 compressor wheel.

Made some more progress over the week, slightly hampered by poor wheather, but slowly getting there. Still waiting for brace bars and subframe mounts etc to come back from power coating.

Managed to paint the bulkhead and underseal everywhere.

Also got most of the dash and gauges in place, just need to do the final wiring

Build up my newly powered subframe and held it in place with tower bolts.

Interior wiring is now held place and my 4 point harness is now fitted

Considering buying another steering wheel, as this 350mm Momo wheel feels a little to big, its currently got a quick release boss that also brings the wheel to close. Maybe a should wait until the cars on the road?
