Hi guys and lady,
Just wondering whats the most power seen with the use of a t2 off a r5 gtt on a 5 port a series without laughing gas,
I have checked the search function and found this very useful chart, http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/attachments/348364-1.pdf
But I understand that is a ball park figure,
I now know the t2 is old hat with the gt17 being the common replacement at the moment but funds are tight and I will have a settle with a little bit of old school until money allows more smiles
If anyone has any ideas off the top of there head
Cheer
Jack
Ps if this is a repost please point me in the right direction then call me whatever it is I am

I think Kean may have squeesed 180 out of a T2, but I could be mistaken.

160 should be easily within its capabilities, and 180 at a push, depending on having all the right other bits of course.

There are other decent value turbos around similarly sized to the T2, but more modern.

i think he got around 170 out of the stock T2, then 200 when he fitted that huge comp wheel to it.

170 at full chat,
you'll need to change turbine hsg, 0.35 one is way too small,

As above, the turbine housing is the main problem at high levels. You can only just about get a fat finger down it on a 0.35

Still makes a great turbo for the road, on mine I had boost from pull away.

What spec was you running kean?
I'm pretty such my internals will stand up to some high boost if I can resist using the power when running in

Mine was 8:1 CR
Guess boost was around 18psi at the time, mirage manifold and cosworth cooler.
Megajolt ignition.

That map is not quite the same spec, but close, you can see the torque tailing off after 5000, that is turbine housing limiting the flow.

Really hits a wall at 5k don't it, what head and cam were being used?

Phase 2 cam

Fully ported head.

If you have a look down the turbine on a 0.35, you can understand why it becomes an issue.

The 0.64 is huge in comparison, but pushes the boost way out of usable range on a 1300. Ideally the 0.48 turbine would be the best solution for more power, but obviously this would push the power band up.

It all depends what you want from the engine.
