Just been out in the hope of fitting my new 7.5" calipers and bleeding the brakes.

I take it its the banjo bolt into the caliper, if its a steel bolt and you have a mig you could try welding a 10/13mm ish nut to the head of it to try and undo it that way, sounds like it may need some heat/penetrating oil too-i find heat most effective, failing that you may have to bastardise the bolt ie dremmel/drill the head off the bolt and remove the remains of it from the caliper being careful of the hose and threads, or is it the straight type union which goes into the caliper?

Yep thought last min it may be those type,I had forgot as mine are different-i think whatever you do with those your going to muller them getting em out to the point of being unusable, sounds like they may be that way already, only my 2 peneth and you may already do this but I like to put copper grease on just about everything threaded as I put it together, even normal grease is good, makes life easier down the road.

Yeah, i generally copperslip anything i see fit, and yep, the hose is pretty mullered right now. just gonna undo the banjo on the subby and replace the drivers side hose i think, isnt much hope left other than cutting it off. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Remove the caliper from the car and clamp the bolt in a vice. Twist the caliper to unscrew it.

have you got any heavy duty mole grips? i have some that have a resessed bit for rounded items, if you do then do them so tight you can hardly clamp it up and then just genterly tap it with a hammer that got mine off my 8.4" breaks, the previous owner muset have decided to weld them on for kicks i swear.
