Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Well thought i would pop my new toy on.

Its on the road for the summer but alognside i'm building a x16xe up to do a straight sway. just a standard lump i picked up but maybe on my emerald ecu and with either a modded inlet or tbi's

its the ex allspeed demo car. other bits needed include getting rid of the old arch holes which you can see and then maybe loose some weight. dash would suit another colour and then there is small bits of rust, nothing structural though.

its going to be a rolling project though, ive had too many projects sat in the garage over the last few years! lol!

not sure i'll have the 1.6 in by then. want to get it right on the deck first before taking the old lump out.

So far i found it a fairly straight forward build, no major issues as yet (thats the kiss of death)

is that using a mk3 astra rad?

lovely looking car Iain; will be watching with interest - I get the idea I'll be doing a similar swap in the clubby

its still on mini suspension and to be honest it does go really well. certainly better than the astra it came out of!

Wil, probably be up for sale sometime knowing me! but hey, have to try a few things out.

Orange one went and got this as it was ready to go. too many projects and not enough time at the minute now i'm away from home all week

Just taking the piss Iain. I would have happily owned every car you have had so far (that I know of anyway).

This is the only engine conversion other than a K-series that works in a mini for me. Stick Rover/BL/Austin/Leland on the cam cover rather than Vauxhall and it would look factory.

How does that brake servo work? Is that a long bar I see running across the bulhead?

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Yeah it's made by allspeed, long bar that connects to the pedal box allowing you to relocate the servo.

That could be very interesting indeed, get it bought!

The car looks great by the way and practical enough to get some regular use out of.

Cheers Ross.

Back to Fucking Tool status

Swindon

slightly off but the 16xe lumps seem very tuneable compared to other engine eg tu5jp4 and quite compact, i do think the 16x can cool really good in a mini engine bay they sort of fit in nicely, the honda conversions give quite good power but look out of place imo. the clubby looks mint apart from the steering wheel and dash imo

Drives
-Ford S-max Mk2 Ecoboost
-Rover 100 VVC #2 - track project

seem to cool ok with an appropriate rad - mk3 astra for example fits well.
