I've not been able to get through to my mechanic this evening and this is doing my head in;

all i know is that with audi the abs-pump relais often brakes down.... |

You don't say what model it is but from what I could find with a quick google search, this problem is quite commonly caused by a broken brake light switch, so check if the brake lights work. The other common cause seems to be a faulty ABS sensor, VAGCOM would tell you that quite quickly. I would suspect it is related to changing the steering rack but I'm not quite sure how. |

I had this with the wife’s A3 over Christmas - took it to Audi and there was nothing wrong. So they reset it, its been fine since.

just had it on the vagcom - apparently it is a fault with the ABS control unit although it has re-set itself so will just wait and see if it comes back - I hope not though as the units sound pricey! |

my power steering pump light keep scoming on. I daren't even plug it in lol... On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

I haven't changed the fluid in 90k, so that will be my first job... rack seems OK On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

mine started knocking first and then performance was knotchy before total failure of the assistance. no change out of £700 |

I just get the light on when I;ve been sat in traffic for a while. Think the fluid is over heating. It'll be shouting for a service by this weekend... On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

was it the pump relay ?? coz 9 of 10 times the pump itself is ok.
