Big thanks to JohnK and the guys at Specialist Components! Just got my DCOE throttle body setup for the Pierce/MED 7 port head. Looking forward to starting the install process in the next few weeks....setup included AT throttle bodies, pico injectors, air filter assembly, typhoon ecu, harness, associated sensors, coil pack w/wires, fuel regulator, etc.....

How you going to get that water temp sensor in the hole? Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

the design shows a distinct lack of imagination, talk about starting off with a clean sheet of paper, then not bothering to fucking draw on it,lol On 20th Apr, 2012 Paul S said:

I only ask because I have the same sensor and the same hole issue.

I was thinking of using an SPi sensor that screws straight in then put another sensor for the gauge where the heter tap would usually be. Good plan! consider it stolen! On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

I like the idea of tapping the heater block off as I just have a plate on mine...not sure if my loom is long enough though as I think most of the sensors are wired up to be on the front of the block. Eric

Yes I had the same problem with loom lenghts, hence if you buy the SPi sensor it all fits.

Any thoughts on the actual placement going from radiator side of thermostat to the actual head? Not sure how the temps may vary from one to the other, but wondering if if is hotter in the head and how that could affect the ecu...probably not much difference where the original temp sensor is, but what about on the opposite side of the head where the heater take-off is? I guess I could always check with the infra red meter for a quick external reference. Eric

Did you say 'spare' 7 port head?.. Yeah....the one in the pic is an early casting directly from Pierce with the standard valves and larger spark plug. The one on the car now is the MED Rally version that is ported with a larger intake valve and 8mm spark plug....Mike Pierce said he revised the casting for the smaller plug to allow for skimming to bring up compression if desired.
