The time has come where I need to rebuild my front hubs, at the same time I will convert to vented metro 4 pot calipers, as I have some. There seems to be a fair few discussions related to which is best to use. So assuming one has complete mini and metro set ups, what combination of parts could be used to make the best handing set up for a high powered track mini? Namely stable with minimal torque steer. Reading around the forum and also on the force racing website it appears the metro ones have a favourable king pin inclination. Are there any other advantages or disadvantages between the two?

I have come up with 4 possible combinations, what is likely to handle best in aforementioned track environment? All would be using vented metro 4 pot disks and calipers.

Finally if the best set up is achieved using the metro hubs, is it correct that instead of using mini ball joints it is necessary to obtain mk1 metro ones?

Thoughts Please.

Having just been through this myself... converting from metro to mini calipers..

Whichever you choose for any kingpin reasons you need to use metro flanges to get the disk and caliper lined up as required for metro calipers, and mini flanges for mini calipers.

The flanges determine the disk position relative to the caliper, not the hubs. The flanges I had (metro and mini) were the same for front track measurement.

Second answer. Ball joints on my metro calipers were the sealed unit screw in types and the mini ones were the ones with shims and messing. Both fitted the arms, but hubs are different to suit.
