Hi Chaps,

Im just contemplating what im going to do this year with the Mini and am considering moving to a rear beam and coil over set up.

One thing im trying to work out is how do you hang the exhaust? Is it a case of just strapping it of the boot floor?

Cheers
Andy

al long as you mount it to the floor apropriatly, ie spread the load rather than hang it all of one little bolt or weld itl be fine :)

I hung my exhaust off the boot floor using a seat belt washer to spread the load. Still there several thousand km & numerous races later.

So i guess it is just a case of slinging it off the boot floor!

Hi Andy

I made a bracket for the back of my car. Its fab’d up out of aluminum.

It has a mirror plate on the inside of the car. Which it all sandwiches up with.

Bracket - boot floor - spreader plate.

It does not protrude into the spare wheel area.

I'll put up some pics for you to see.

Its a substantial piece of kit, but light. It had to be because the exhaust has no other support along its length.

So from the manifold straight back to the bracket.

I drill holes in everything..!

I just drilled an 8mm hole in the boot and fitted a cotton reel type mount clamped up to the floor, then drilled an 8mm hole in the centre of the exhaust clamp and bolted it up....no need for anything to over engineered tbh. *oh well*

I also drilled and tapped the beam, and threaded a second cotton reel mount into that and drilled the exhaust clamp as above.
