i have bought a mini which has been converted to a 1275 metro turbo engine with a t3 turbo. the engine has been rebuilt with various mods.
the problem is i cant get the engine to run correctly it starts first time and will tick over but when i rev the car it does'nt seem to do much.
i have sorted the timing out and have checked the turbo carb and it still dont work does anyone know what other things i should check?
would anyone be able to come and have a look in the birmingham area?

have you checked the compression ratio and fueling? is the choke sticking and making it run really rich? what does it souund like on idle and what do you mean by doesnt do much? as in doesnt make boost or what? reving the engine without any load wont spool the turbo up properly

Almost sounds abit fuel like if it won't rev.

If in doubt... flat out! The words of a true legend

yer thats what i thought but its got a brand new turbo marine fuel hose with the red top facet fuel pump which is working correctly. when you put your foot on the accelerator it doesnt rev for a good 4-5 seconds then will pik up revs even if your foot aint on the pedal then when it drops revs going back down to tick over it cuts the engine out?

The red top fuel pump is your problem. It's not suitable for boosted applications.

There was an analogy on here before which described why it's not suitable. It went something like... It's the equivalent of trying to piss into an airline.

You need the proper metro turbo pressure reg and a hi pressure pump.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Cavalier gsi pump or metro turbo i belive there pritty much the same and a decent fuel pressure reg, iirc the facet red pumps are no good as they only give 6or 7psi max pressure where as the metty one is 15 i belive so it starves the engine of fuel.

You need a pump which can supply a higher pressure than the boost you plan to run. In which case the standard Metro Turbo pump is fine for most folks as it supplies about 36psi.
As already said the Facet red top is not suitable.
