Hi all,

I'm fitting a new flywheel and the instructions state that the drive straps should just touch the lugs on the back-plate. I have about 1mm of space, it states to machine the spacers down, now I cant do that so can I just add a 1mm washer?

Thanks for any help..

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I wouldnt wory about that so much as whether the diaghragm spring is flat when the whole clutch is assembled.

Infact, I read an article on clutch springs that states on a new clutch the spring should be 'over center' so that as the friction plate wears the spring pressure will rise slightly (flat) then fall off (under Center), to the point that the friction lining is completely worn, but not drop the spring pressure any lower than when a new lining was fist correctly installed.

Basically, get the spring flat or just over flat.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Thanks sprocket, I will have a look at the spring tomorrow. I have put washers during assembly for now,but it was getting far too cold in garage.
