Been searching the internet a fair bit, and after offering my clubby grille up to my new front last night, and hacking away to get the grille to fit in its hole on the passenger side, how do people fix these in place? as i cant really see anything for me to screw it to, and what do i do with the piece of the grille at the top? cut it off?
Also what about the headlight fitment, just cut the bowl out and bolt it to the FG front with the grille in front of it?
Cheers.

I'm half way through this at the moment. Bowls, yes straight to the FG front with self tappers. I used the end bits off the grille to get an idea where they go but you can't get it perfect as the bowls go right to the edge of the available space on mine.

Grille fitting will be either some threaded bar out of the FG with nice dome nuts on the outside or some bent metal brackets. Not sure yet. Its all a bit of a fiddle but they never fitted that well on the original cars, so whatever I end up with should be at least as good. I will be cutting the top bit off right at the end before final fitting, just in case I end up needing any of it to get it to stay in place.

Mine's in! Though it's only a 1 piece so might not quite be the same, I'm not sure what the 2 piece has in the way of a "slam panel"?

The grille-trim for the headlights is riveted to the main grille, then a couple of 90º simple brackets holding the grills to the sides of the f/g headlight area, couple more brackets from the sides of the headlight trim to the edge of the front end. Difficult to put in to words - I'll post some pics later!

The 2 piece has a slam panel, but ive got hold of some spare starter tie brackets in stainless from work im going to be modifying and using (the little L shaped piece on the rail)

this is my front, although you cant see the slam panel, and ive already fixed the one indicator in place, the grille is just resting there not attached:

Best piece of advice i can give you, is leave the A panels on!
Small tabs off the a panels for the dzus fasteners, 2 per side.
I used bonnet pins to mount the front of the front end. Then for the bonnet I used bonnet pins through the front corners of the slam panel, then i cut the sticky up bit on top of the inner wing and folded it flat for the rear bonnet pins, or use triangular plates from the scuttle to inner wing as most do.
I'll get some pics up shortly if i find any good ones.

For the clubby grille i just used some long allen headed m4 bolts from my local fastenings place.
Bits of water hose on the bonnet pins cut to the right length help stop the bonnet rattling around too.

Do you mean leave the metal A panels in place?
There is no slam panel on these fronts is there! so i need to use some brackets to mount the top of the grille to.
