another basic question -
presumably if a fuel regulator doesn't have a connection for boost reference it is not of a boosted car ?
like this one appears to be incorrect-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MG-MAESTRO-MONTEGO-T...cles_CarParts_S

so are all fuel regulators with 3 pipe connections for boosted application ,
or could the 3rd connector be for fuel return

only i've been given the full spiel on a couple of regulators i've enquired about and they don't add up

ps I don't want to fit a modern blinging new type on a 1953 car - hence the questions

On the montego and maestro the fuel return was seperate to, and after, the fuel regulator, so it has one connector less that the metro item.

cheers for that ,
but there still doesn't appear to be a connection for the boost reference pipe from the plenum

Why not just buy a new one, that you know will work ?

the Montego one only has 3 pipes. You need a t-piece on the feed pipe. one feeding the carb, one feeding the reg. The return then goes through the reg. Boost pipe is on top, same as metro.

You can buy bog standard cast aluminium Malpassi regulators anywhere ?

Demon tweeks, Merlin Motorsport, probably most Mini specialists, egay.

Really...they are not hard to get.

Cheers -

Like this one steve ?

I just won this jobby -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...T#ht_500wt_1156

It has 4 connections , one underneath which I assume is for boost pipe as it is not marked with arrow ?

Does it look like the thing I need ?

Top - boost
Bottom - fuel return.
Middle (same side as top one) - Carb
Other Middle one - Fuel in.

If it does have 4 ports and is working, then yes you've got a bargain.
