Right firstly il show you my setup!

Basically I have it now all plumbed up as per the pictures in the FAQ section.

Spark is fine, timing is fine.

It IS fuel related.

When you try and start the car there is nothing, doesn't try to fire or anything! I have checked the carb and the float chamber fills with fuel as it should, I have blown through the main jet to make sure it isnt blocked, fuel pressure is set to 3.5psi.

It will run if fuel is sprayed into the plenum but only until this fuel is burned!

Dashpot has oil etc, now..... im not sure what should happen when the dashpot is removed and the fuel pump is on but no fuel seems to emerge from the jet! I'm guessing this is where the problem lies??

ANy help would be much appreciated :)

No, no fuel should come out of the jet with the pump on and the engine running.

It looks like you have the anti-run-on valve pipe open. You need to block this. Also the part-throttle-lean-off looks connected oddly.

Check connections as folllows:-

The picture is slightly dated, I have more connections now.

I have connected 3 to 5

I have connected 1 to the vacuum on the FPR

2 Is my fuel in and I have blocked 4....

Well I can see no reason why it wouldn't work.

A common problem if for people to use the wrong plenum gasket and block the hole that pressureises the float bowl on boost, but your car would still start.

How about the jet is set too high and the needle is jamming in it, blocking the fuel?

Thanks.

Just had a thought, the fuel in the tank is over a year old, could this be the problem?

It is the same fuel I spray into the plenum that gets the car to run BUT as a fine vapour mist this could be what is causing the issues??

Are the plugs getting wet when you just turn it over?

I will refresh the fuel but im still doubting that this is the problem as it would try to fire at least im sure, especially as it will fire if sprayed into the plenum.

Its really annoying me as this is the only thing stopping me from getting the car set up lol

Take the dashpot off, check that it has a needle fitted and that the main jet is set at least a couple of millimetres below the bridge,

when the carb was rebuilt someone had done up the main jet to tight so the mixture adjustment screw wasnt adjusting!

Yeah thats a video from a couple of years ago and it made 192bhp on twin 45s, engine was similar spec although I had high comp pistons as appose to the low comp ones I have now.

Hoping for 250 - 300bhp :)

Thought id update this,

power wise the car made 253bhp 345 lb/ft torque at 15psi, and was featured in december 2011 classic ford magazine as the cover car :)

Ran a 12.9 @ 112mph at santapod and has done a fair bit of track time throughout the year with no major problems.

Going to run a bit more boost next year, maybe go for the 300bhp mark !

Couple of videos you might like 8-)
