No, no fuel should come out of the jet with the pump on and the engine running.
Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Well I can see no reason why it wouldn't work.

I will refresh the fuel but im still doubting that this is the problem as it would try to fire at least im sure, especially as it will fire if sprayed into the plenum.

Take the dashpot off, check that it has a needle fitted and that the main jet is set at least a couple of millimetres below the bridge, Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."

when the carb was rebuilt someone had done up the main jet to tight so the mixture adjustment screw wasnt adjusting!
