Trying to get Wintersurfers mini started tonight, but it's just turning over and not firing.

It died out of the blue a month ago when it seemed to have developed a fueling problem. We've since stripped the carb and found a load of crap in the needle jet gauze. Great we thought, there's the problem. But since refitting everything it's just not firing.

The plugs are wet with fuel and we have a good spark from the MJ. Leads are on correctly.

My initial thoughts are...

The reason the car died has nothing to do with the crap in the carb and we are overlooking a different problem.

Removing the blockage from the carb has skewed the fueling?

Thanks in advance.

I'm woindering how much fuel went down the bores when paul whacke the pipes on the wrong way.

Got an oil can? give each cyl a squirt to lube the rings, then tow start it.

A lot by the sounds of it. Paul said that the consistency of the oil seemed to change halfway through draining it and it really smelt of fuel.

We'll give that a go tomorrow.

alot joe, as a test i wanted to see if it was flammable, and, it was *happy* . After draining the oil, ive flushed it with about a litre of oil, then refiled it.

my battery is flat as well, so trying to charge it tonight, as when its cranking over its a little slow.

I did think that Robert. He's got the same crappy NGKs that I've been using. It seems that the shit themselves even with the slightest bit of contamination.

I'll give it a try.

Cheers guys

I have definately found that NGKs can fail and never recover from a good soaking of fuel.
