right been reading for a couple of evenings but got a few questions

standard 1275 metro internals what psi and bhp can they take before things go bad
if not what pistons are good enough to take 140bhp+

if you use the search function you should find lots of info. And a good piston a lot of people use is the cast omega (+20) with the 10cc dish

how much over 140+bhp you after? & do you have a boost level you want to run? or does boost not matter as long as you get the desired power?

well i am hoping to make up a good 140-150bhp and that its only the boost restricting the power for example 10psi 130bhp 14psi 150-160 so its only a matter of uping the boost and i can get a bit more power

spec i am thinking of

lightened fly wheel
modified head
front mounted alloy IC
dump valve
straight cut drop gears
undercrown cooling jets

i am not sure on turbo as a gt17 is expensive in my opinion
i want the turbo to come in 3000rpm and hit hard!

Cross pin diff needed I'd say, but don't expect too much, I the engine isn't in tip top condition it isn't going to last long from the way you've explained you want it.

I wish I thought that I could get another 20-30hp by increasing boost by 4 psi -sadly I dont thinkk I can

you will get 140-150 from std metro turbo pistons with the right modds to the head to lower compresion get it ported cam intercooler & you should see them figures not the 160 tho

you might want to think about a diff. another point to look at is the head and cam.

good head will go a long way, which you may need to change the cam to suit.

have a look at my build, started with a std 1275.

cross pin dif ok?

engine has only done 21k miles from new and had one old lady owner who was a friend of the family, engine has been serviced by my grandad from new

140bhp would be nice to be fair

mg N/a cam not ok?

just had a browse on intercoolers is it best to be short and fat or thick and thin?

whatever fits as long as it isnt a cheap chinese thing, if you want cheap youll get better quality coolers from various cars at the scrapper.

have a search on cams, theres a few different ones so do a bit of reading on them.

intercooler, whatever fits. read peoples build threds to see what there using and how there fitting them.

heads, speak to benross or turbo phil, there the head wizards on here.

diff, maybe try to get the minispaires x-diff as many people have used them and they do tend to hold out.

one thing i found very helpfull was reading everyones build threads, this will give you an idea of what has been tryed and tested, what will fit and what wont, head-cam-rockers-turbos and what power there getting out of them, they all work together.

what power can the standard 1275 put up with? with a IC and 10psi?
