This is slightly off topic, but if you can consider it as helping out an elderly relative....................

I am building an Austin A30 with a 1380 Sprite block with a K1100 head. I was planning to use Megasquirt for injection and ignition, so no dizzy needed. I thought the hole in the block left would make a great crank-case breather with the right baffle to stop the oil escaping!!
My question is how is the dizzy drive lubricated (splash or pressure)? I've looked at the block and can't see any obvious oil hole, so can I just leave this out without losing oil pressure?
Your thoughts would be very much appreciated

Its just splash lubed,

However, mak sure you pull the dizzy drive out as it'll wobble about and hit the crank.

Thanks Joe,
I thought it looked like there wasn't an oil feed to the drive, you have confirmed my suspicions, so it can be safely removed and left out of the build!! The cam is only there as a jack-shaft to drive the oil-pump (all lobes have been removed already), so this makes life even simpler.

The tried to record it once Dave but the Day wasn't long enough pity really would have been nice for the record.

If live long enough to get this little beast finished it would be good to see if Dave's Turbo 35 was quicker than my 16valve NA 30. .....................!
I'll try to stick up some pictures when I've got my camera connected.

I, too, am using the distributor hole as a breather, but also looking to hook up to a crankcase evacuation system previously discussed on here, a la Vizard, with breathers from timing cover and rocker cover included.
Pics in due course.
