It needs to be sealed or you will have a boost leak. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Lets have a look at the picture buddy, cracks don't sond too good though.

Hopefully a picture has been uploaded and you'll see what i mean. There's a similar crack/hole the other end two. |

Hard to see clearly, but looks to be a split in the main core tube! Not good! As a test fill it with water and then block both main hose inlets off, if water comes out of those splits it is goosed and you should return from whence it came!

Thanks for the responses. If i look through the inlets into the unit I can see daylight coming through in both corners opposite. It's not a lot but it's clearly not sealed. You've answered my question thanks....i'll be after my money back. |

This is a classic R5 intercooler fault. Our car ran like that for a while, but it is not great. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

The tank brace has also split from the flange.
9.85 @ 145mph
