I've been talking to someone recently and can aqquire sets of h section conrods for a good price, if there's any interest I can afford 5 sets or so in about a week if a sale on my amp goes through, the rods in question are Chinese made but are sold by one of the major company's here as there own brand rod, the wouldn't say which company tho. Anyways would anyone be interested in a set of h sections minus the bolts for around 220 all in plus delivery a set? Just gauging interest as I don't wanna buy a load and be stuck with 4 extra sets. Rick i think this is a difficult one, one thing china is good at is counterfeited goods, if these turned out to be made by a company that supplies one or two of the engine builders that stamp there names on them i would be interested, however you are taking a chance on them being very substandard and rods and bolts are a critical part! as per PM,s im going to get all the info i can, this is just a "who would be interested if" type of thread, obviously im thinking along the same lines, i dont want ineriour rods in my new engine. ill get the info asap hopefully with pictures and specs. On 17th Feb, 2011 apbellamy said:

I'm not having this as a debate mate that's for the other topic. Merely seeing who's interested... And if they are what I think they are then it's not much dearer than lightening your standard rods... Well a little bit but... I'll get all the info and report back. On 17th Feb, 2011 apbellamy said:

got some specs, saw the drawings and piccies today, will try and get the copy of them to post up. the material is 40CrNiMoA (4340), and hardness is HRC 33-38, double air remelt (f any of that means anything to you) but there not the same as the other ones which are after looking at the draings and looking at the other companies rod. im just going to get 2 sets now 1 for me and 1 for... who knows, but 2 is the minimum i can order.
