footman james won't touch anything over a 10bhp increase after keeping me on the phone for half an hour before...tossers.

Can't fault flux/hic really, and yeah the breakdown does come in handy!

Well I found my renewal latter from April 2010 which should of been £154 but I didn't take it out last year. Now getting a price from HIC of £275! bit of an increase. Might try adding my partner on, she brought my main car insurNce down £200 just for being a named driver!
I sware insurance is made up on the spot.

It can be,

I couldnt get insurance for a turbo'd 998 as it was too modified... but a turbod 1275 was no probs as it was a std engine.

What sort of quotes are people getting, a few people mention figures in the £100-200 area.

I just called HIC and got £530 (£350xs) :(

30yrs old, 7yrs NCB, no convictions etc, car value £6000, agreed values on all modifications (engine+turbo, gearbox, rollcage, wheels, flipfront, exhaust, dash etc)

What are you lads telling them? like its a MG 1275cc turbo eng made into a 1380cc turbo, so they know where to start the quote.

Try peter best, my last ins quote was £260. Std 1275 for a 21 year old. They wouldnt insure the car with any mods under 25. Got free recovery, international insurance for 30 days and recovery. Classic car policy with 5000 limited milage.

The turbo build has finally started
