If you warm the paint up it will soften it so the paint won't crack which may help.
If in doubt... flat out! The words of a true legend |

Yeh I got away with it.. Air saws alot easier if you have one. I used an angle grinder for one side and it took ages.

Hammer and chissel works every time. I've just started doing mine, one side finished. I chisseled out the section of the inner arch, then chisseled around the arch seam, leaving all the quarter panel in place. I then folded the lip back on the quarter panel to match the line of the inner arch. Spot or plug welding the plate in on this seam will limit any burning of the paint and any burning will be limited to an area behind the sports pack arches. a qick lick of red oxide, seam sealed, stone chipped, primer and touching in the top coat, with some sort of waxoyl when the arch is refitted will make it good as new. Doing it this way will also prevent any distortion of the quarter panel. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

thats a point the coilovers i have are the lowerd protec type! will i need to tub my arches? No - I just sold that set and they were fine. A little bit of rubbing at castle combe, but I was at maximum attack. The spring platforms could have been wound up a whole inch if necessary, but I never got as far as the fine tuning stage due to making the decision to tub! Edited by minimole23 on 9th Mar, 2011.
