Hello folks, just done a rear 1/4 repair on both sides of my daily driver.

Ive warped both sides ever so slightly. over a 30cm stretch, in the centre ive got a 2mm dip at worst. so not massively bad, not ideal though.

The question i have is, before i filler it up in the weekends to come. i was thinking about tubbing the rear arches. I have wood and picket arches on this car, will they still fit. the sides of the arch wont be an issue.

However around the top there will be a flat area. normally this would attach to the lip however an inch lower down on the bottom bit of the arch. My thinking being that i could bond a bracket in at the top and then bolt that upto the inner wheel arch.

the line of the dirt seems to come to smack on where it would if the arch was being tubbed

Not sure they'll fit as they follow the line/lip of the old arch, I think you'd get issues where the w&ps then met with the valance and near the radius arm brackets?

I ran W&P arches with tubbed arches on Scruffy Mk1

Cheers scruffy. How did you manage to attach the top of the arch? A flat bracket bonded to the arch and then that bracket bolted to the car?
