came out this morning to go to work and some w***er has smashed my passenger door window and nicked my toolbag!!!

so i have to drive to work with no window at 5 in the morning!!

now i've taken everything out that isn't bolted down just incase they come back for anything tonight..

been p***ed off all day at work and seriously been thinking about getting an alarm fitted, can anyone recommend a decent one? nothing to fancy, just a siren that goes off even if someone looks at it!!

makes me think got to sort out my security cameras around house! some tried knicking my r5 turbo exhaust till they realised i welded it on! was funny to watch local scum though!

Although make sure you don't leave anything like that on view ever, especially in a mini you are well catered for as you can lock stuff in the boot.

At least they just bust the window though, a mini of mine was broken into once and before smashing the window (passengers side as well!) they screwdrivered the door lock, and then tried to get a screwdriver underneath the handle so ripped all the door skin. At least yours is an easy repair (if that is any consolation?)

I have had good results from a "Cobra Globe" alarm system. Personally from experiences mates have had I would steer clear of "Clifford" systems, know a couple of people that have paid a LOT of money and had nothing but bother.

had my cobra monacos robbed from my mini recently along with my sound system grrr

some kid in a nova tried knicking my bumper off my nova and ripped the front to bits so got the spares keys etc..off a mate who owned his nova and towed it away then stripped it!(teach the cunt to mess with me) he didnt have insurance or tax anyway so dont think police would be bothered!

bet my seats are in some fuckin chav nova with go faster stripes blacked out windows and a stupid fuckin silver tail pipe thing from halfords !

i replaced the window after work but mine are tinted so its another 50 quid to have it retinted..

and the reason i had the tools in the car in the first place is because its my every day car and you never know when you will need them next!

i asked the police if i catch them first can i cut their theiving hands off!!!

What annoys me, is fair enough you shouldn't leave things on show, but then, why the f*ck not? It's your car, your tools, you should be allowed to leave your things like that on show. This country rah rah rah!

try stamping stuff with a mark or logo that only you no then if you come across similar ones you can have the right to take back...my mate done this with ice install using blueprint stuff...he seen a car on cruise with boot open and had the same amp with the mark he made on so took it and proved it was his to copper and they nicked kid for stolling gear! 1st time copper came in handy mind! my mate wanted to do more damage to kid like!lol

Lucky if you happen to see it again somewhere like that, but with onlince auctions and more classifieds it's getting more and more unlikely you'll see them again.

2 of my cars have Cobra alarms; the turbo has a Toad

the Cobras are superb and I think they cost ?140 ish with battery backup ( IMO essential on a mini :)
and a doddle to fit


The toad has similar features but was more cash ; but has dual circuit immobiliser


anyhows thats my bit ..... Go Cobra !!

had problems with my toad alarm on r5 turbo...but they are good on others as my nova had one and it was shit hot...

bad news mate, hope you sort the window soon and the tools werent all snap-on!
theres still enough 'lacally' stoaln stuff being sold by dealers etc, on estates etc, it might pay to get 'freindly' with the scum then they iether wont steal your stuff in the foirst place or if they do they will ask if you want to buy it back, then you can kill em, lol
theres lots of it going round my work and i hear about loads of stolen radios and things.

Fella from our mini club was telling me how his neighbour woke up one might and saw some scrotes taking the new wheels off his Golf...

Naighbour was really annoyed - couldn't believe the little f*#kers would attempte to take 'HIS' wheels (as you would be).

Especially as he'd had them 'stolen to order' off a car in liverpool only the previous month.

I need to replace the fuse in my alarm, im just using a halfords Sparkrite one, just for the central locking outputs in future

my car should be fine at work we got big gates and cameras, its the estate across the road that they come over and sell stuff from there lol
i do need ana alarm tho for peice of mind outside my houe while i dont have the garage and so on. hidden electric cut off is very nice tho:)

For steering wheel locks I personally don't think you can beat a "Disclock" I have got one and its good quality and has had good write ups.

i always leave my shitbox of a metro unlocked, but with a big steering lock on it.... that way that can have a rummage around without smashing the windows..... obviously this is not a good idea if theyre is anything worth nicking in the car!

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!
