Hi as above iam running me metro turbo at 12.5 psi its std apart from 26cc head exhaust air filter & intercooler I had it set up on the rolling road (peter burguess) a couple weeks a go & I've only had the car out twice for less than an hour a time & its burnt the tip off the plug it was a denzo set of plugs bought new for the rr so only done about 75miles max iam not sure if its the heat rating on the plugs as I just asked for std metro turbo plugs at my local accessories or if the timings way to advanced at 20degrees at idle with vacume disconnected which plugs are best to use I can get ngk local so wasn't sure which ones to go for? Also what to set timing to if this needs retarded I've been searching on hear most of the day but can't seem to find the answers all help appreciated thanks scott *smiley*

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I can get the ngk bpr7es which is the equivalent to them plugs in the link but does it matter about the resistance of the plugs read it some where when I was searching earlier as iam running dizzy with silicone leads or does the resistance only come into play when running mj? My cr is about 8.5 just though I would put that in for the timing side if it makes any diff??

with the vac disconnected you should be seeing more like 10 deg,

sugests that you could be seeing 35+ deg at higher rpm which is WAAAY to much!

Iam sure your right I remember something on the lines of 30 or 35 at 3500rpm I thought it was way to advanced for a turbo but I was paying for a professional rr setup he said he couldn't hear any pinking should I re-set according to haynes or just drop it back to about 10-12? Timing does me head in that's a reason I got the rr done ggrrrr

The 3500rpm was with the vacume still disconnected & the car was at a static position so is that about what your running then? But what's yours at idle 1000rpm? Or do you set it at 1500rpm like the haynes says? Iam in need of some good advice with this one *frown*

it's either too lean, or detonation, detonation could be cause by the timing so far advanced

And when the tips of the plugs melt off, often they fall down side of piston and cause bore/piston damage

Really does sounds like the RR was a waste of money. Almost hard to believe somewhere would let the car leave like that.

just hope you havent done any major damage

I put a thread on hear before I went either bog bros or peters & it was mixed reaction prob about 50/50 as my bro had a 205 mi16 on bike carbs at bogg & it was worse when we left as he drilled the jets out to big I went for peters I think he has may be set it like a n/a in future I think iam goin to just get a fuel air ratio gauge kit set it up me self & just go for a power run at a local rr that don't have much knowledge of a series stuff I can still play with the timing ect when there
