I have a set of SPAX coilovers, the 'lowered' edition with offset rear fitting.

I was about to fit my miglia arches today and upon measuring i noticed the drivers side was 1/4" lower at the back than the passenger side, both springs were set to their lowest. I raise the colar about 1" on the drivers side and this leveled things out at the rear nicely. Firstly, should there be that much differance in spring adjustment from one side of the car to the other?

Then came the concerning part, the front is 1 1/4" lower than the back if measured from the floor to the sill. I thought I would just raise the front as obviously I cannot lower the rear as the passenger side is already as low as it can go.

Turns out the front colars are already wound up as high as they can go at the front, so i cannot raise the front or lower the rear to level out the car.

I'm sure being a bit lower at the front is better with a FWD car but is this normal?

You need to check the corner weights. Sounds like you may have all the weight across two corners of the car.

the car has never been on the road, well it has been in the past but you know what i mean.

shocks have been fitted for a long time (years) but not driven on.

as you say the engine is at the front and the rest of the car is stripped out, including a beam axle (should have mentioned that before) so i dont even have the weight of a rear subframe.

These are my current measurements.

I have a centrally positioned fuel cell rather than a tank on the left of the boot, so that and the battery on the right may account for the right side needing slight adjustment, although saying that its not the worlds bounciest suspension in the world and even me stood in the boot on one side doesnt make a huge differance.

Maybe the light rear end obv engine up front is just going to give me this setup but is it ok, should I look into a fix, is everyone elses car sat level?

First off, are you on 100% level ground? Even a stight slope can bugger up the levels.

I would put them all back to where they were, check the ground then start again.

hang on a sec, i might have been a bellend :$

just remembered that the top brackets for the front coilovers have 2 mounting holes in them, I've put them in the top holes, so all I need to do is drop them to the bottom holes to raise the front right up and give me some spring adjustment. :$ *angry*

So, does a ride height of 10" to the sill all round sound about right?

EDIT:

Wil, I've dug up an OLD post of yours, the measurements you quote are pretty much what mine are at at the moment... 215 = 8.5", 245 = 9.6", so only .4" differance at the back to what mine is at the moment *oh well*

Mine is 215 at the front and 245 on the rear. 12" wheels and no tubbing. No problems running on the road.
