Australia oi oi oi!

to anyone running a supercharged engine.

how reliable have you found it on a carby? does it run well? anyone gone injection?

most charged engines run on injection right?

my set up is mega jolt ( finally got it going) **very impressed with how smooth it is** using a hif44 and i'm ready to bolt the charger set up on.

I have also been considering injection my self from sc components,

it's alot of money for me on this side of the world, do i really need it will the old carb have alot of problems with these set ups?

not after all out power my self, just some fun and messing around with the carb all the time will shit me.

anyone gone turbo injection yet?

Nick, I found the following helped stabilise my Sc kit:

- Megajolt, as my dizzy had wear and the points dont help when your car relies on very accurate timing...

- engine temp I have found an 82 deg stat runs much better than on a 78 however with your temp in AUS it much more stable than ours in the uk?

- Bike Carb - I found this has been great at providing a stable fuelling. I never got on with the HIF44 even after a full rebuild and buying a new old stock carb. I think most of it was due to the bike carb not having an oil filled dash pot as the heat of the engine go to the the oil, that made it much thinner than in colder conditions, this changed fuelling. You also use a mix of jets and the needle to control the fuel on a bike carb.

- Anti stall valve. This has stopped the SC from drawing fuel at over-run and flooding the engine, causing it to stall.

Now when the car has been stood for 6 months it takes a while to start as it has to draw the fuel a long distance before it can ignite it.

My very simple understanding of the fuel injection it should improve:
- mpg on part throttle/cruse
- pickup between part and full throttle.
- I dont think you would need the anti stall circuit as the overrun couldn't pull the fuel.

Andy has just bought this setup for his SC12 kit, so should be the first to run it.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I run a simple stub manifold that bolts onto bens kit and a piece of hose attaches my bike car. You need to make sure that the float bowls on the carb is at the same level as they would be on the bike they came off.

I think the R1 carbs are 41mm I think... have a google i have a 38mm carb on mine

My local Rolling road made it. Ben will beable to knock one up with his skills. The design you need will depend on:

- The size of pipe depending on the inlet on the carb.
- The angle depends on keeping the float bowl in the same position it would have been on the bike. This will stop the carb from overflowing and the float cutting the fuel off correctly.
- The length need is just enough to fit the carb under the bonnet...
jobs a good-un :)

I had to block one of the air tubes that feed the jets or it was too lean at idle. The rolling road sorted this at setup.
