Anyone wishing to part with a set of early 998 A+ rods with the bushed little ends in exchange for some cash?

Can someone translate that *happy*

Early 998 A+, mid 80s at a guess.

The 99H/997 and some /B81 or /C20 had floating pins. All mine are 99H/E20 or later and have the press fit pins.

Depends on the engine no.

However, I would not wish anyone to break an engine up just for a set of rods.

Anyone modified the press fit rods to bushed use? Or even just used the press fit rods with early floating pin pistons?

Yes, but I don't have the machines to accurately bore the little end for the bush.

I have two sets available. Though i am sure one set came from an 850. The other set deffo came from a 998 A+, but the 850 ones look visually much better.

£10 the lot plus post?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Usually the 850 ones have the pinch bolt little end, which is definately a no-no. You have a PM.

Sorru for being thick. Is bushed the floating type?

I have sets of both types I'm sure. But I use the floating so would have to tot-up my stock before letting any go.

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

one set deffo came out of an 850, however, the bloke I got the 850's from was a grass tracker, and the engines had been rebuilt at some point.

The '850' rods weigh in at a little under 700 grams and the 998 rods weigh in at a little under 670 grams. the '850' rods have a better cast finish on them, and the 998 rods have a rough cast finish on them.
