Australia oi oi oi!

HI everyone!

so i have my mega jolt running very well now & has not missed a beat so much better then a dizzy!!!

i have a few questions- problems running the 1380 map.

it's still N/A for the moment but will be charged very very soon *happy*

I have checked the timing in limp mode, where it is locked to 10 degree's & on my crank i got 6 deegre thats the 3rd tooth down right??

so i would need to offset -4 degree? to match what the engine timing is?

do i set my cranking at 6 degree or 10? if in limp mode it is showing the timing is a static 6 degree when idle with a timing light. ignoring what the mega jolt has to say.

im having starting issues or not started a few days, it takes a fair while to kick over then it runs rough as a nail for a few revs then it picks up great & idles nice, im using a hiff44 carb as always i still warm her up.

lastly it feels like it's not right, it's like it is missing power on the bottom end on acceleration it slightly bogs down & then picks up the revs its very slight but annoying with the (1380 map) MiniSPi2-MD286 map seems alot better and fixed most of these problems.

could it possibly be reading 8 degree before TDc so i maybe only need -2 degree sensor adjustment?

i just gave the MiniSPi2-MD286 map a go & it fixed the bottom end bog i was having a fair bit & revs a bit nicer on low end now.

thanks lads. :)

Nick.

Every one of the teeth on the standard timing marks on an A series engine is worth 4 degrees

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

i was told they go in 2 degree increments.

thats good to know sprocket.

all know is my timing light was showing it was lined up to the 3rd tooth when i hit it with a timing light so 12 degree?

thats really confused me now.

ok joe. so 3rd tooth from top to bottom is 8 degree's then?

if they go in 4 degree changes.

so i would need to go -2 on the mega jolt? & cranking advance of 8 to match it all up.

i was told the wrong thing all along!

Try it. I got it wrong first time round on van so went other way.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

When you found tdc did you check this with a dial gauge
This may worth checking just so you know the timing marks on the casing are ok
