Just measured mine for you. It's somewhere between 15/16" and 1" (on a analogue vernier). Measured just after the CV boot on the normal fat section of the shaft. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Later model minis here in SA all came out with the thin shafts, but they where all drum braked. "So wat we gonna do tonight Brain?"
