Why not just start with a std 1275 engine if your going to rebuild it? I believe most peoples engines on here didnt start life as a turbo charged unit. one day boost will be mine!

I have looked at that option, as far as I’m aware its deeper dished pistons, centre main strap and up rated exhaust valves and guides isn’t it?

On ebay they sell for stupid money & 99.9% of the time will need a complete rebuild. The youngest of the Metro Turbo engines are now over 20 years old, to find one that doesn't need a rebore will be almost a miracle.

Anything around the £500 mark. Me personally, I dont think original turbo engines are worth the money people are asking for them these days. I would much rather get a standard 1275 unit and rebuilt it to the spec I like.

Hi Phil, id love to tbh but i think 1275 engines are just as rare in wales as metty/mini turbo engines, cant seem to find any that are not on ebay, and they seem to go for around 400 which is a little steep i think, maybe that is un reasonable, correct me if im wrong, dose anyone know for a 1275 lump? |

thanks Pauly, didnt think of the gearbox but i suppose that makes perfect sense with more power, £500, i presume that is also requiring a rebuild, dose anyone know roughly what converting a 1275 to 1275 t costs? |

The last 1275's I bought cost £85 for a short MPi engine and £53 for a standard A+ 1275 with box (no head, cam or clutch) On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

It's just a case of looking hard, the bargains do show up.

, I am willing to pay a fair amount for an engine but I thort that this was an extortionate price for an engine that hadn’t even been fully re built. What is the going rate for these engines today? I’m not bothered if it needs re building as I’m not in a rush to get the engine in.
