just lift the engine with the crane a little bit, then when its up enough to woble the engine side to side, pop out one pot joint then move the engine over and do the other un. best tool ive found is a crowbar to lever em out. or a jack handle and lump hammer. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

Is it a left-hand thread? you might be turning it the wrong way.

There is only one left hand thread on a Mini, and that's on the left rear hub! On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

I wasn't sure about the left-hand thread, it's years since I took a fron hub apart. I knew about the back one. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

if you NEED to get that nut off, what i do is drill down the nit twice 180 degrees apart in the shallow bit of the castle(if u know what i meen) then whack down them with a chizel. nut fall soff effortlessly. naturally you need a new one after this!
