right i will be rebuilding my remote change box sometime (im sticking to remote as my car is a 72) and want to make it the best that it can be, i have some straight cut tran-x gears and a X pin diff, i will replace and the bits that were out with a rebuild kit from minispares and get a upgraded layshaft and central pick up.

but what im asking is what can i do to make this gear box last? im going to try and make it as heavy duty if you like as i can, it will be taking a road spec turbo 998 so not massive power but still, any other parts that i should buy to improve it?? also what are the weakness on the remote box and what can i do to the box while its out that would be a good idea??

thanks :)

you should be fine,

the main issue with the remote box is that it has the 4 bolt pinion retainer, because of this I fitted a Kad pinion support.

I've been sticking a fair bit of oompf through mine with no issues, and thats on 13's too with an ATB.
