just wondering, im using a mpi/spi tank and when ive just been driving it for a couple of hours and i open the cap to fill up, theres a loud whoshing noise, as if air is rushing in. Whys the pressure building up so much? I thought it was supposed to be vented? I blew through the pipe that comes out of the top and it seems to be clear!

no idea, its usually the breather being blocked that causes it, was the pipe kinked anywhere or caught under anything?

if your car cuts out though soon you'll know why *wink*

Yes should have a breather off the tank. Or alternatively get a fuel cap off an estate as they are a vented cap as standard as the estate/van tanks do not have a breather.

On a tank with a vent pipe are you sure that?s possible?? (I'm not sure it is) unless the vents blocked in some way. I would say that it's all to do with the tank coming from an emissions car and if I?m not mistaken doesn?t the vent have to go back to the inlet or some form of carbon canister to stop the fuel vapors venting into the atmosphere.

Just my 2 pennys worth. :)

Yep blew down it and no restrictions! Wierd!

My fuel pressure never alters so probably nothing to worry about, the only bad thing i was thinking about was extra strain on the pump possibly. Nevermind!
