Hi all, thought I would sign up as I own a Metro Turbo powered Mini and it would be rude not to register here. I have my own car sales business that keeps me very occupied, but I am trying to find the time to restore the beloved Mini again after blowing it up numerous times when I first started driving!

So.... 5 years on, its sat outside under a cover. It is in top shape underneath, but needs a little tidying to the body, a respray, and mot and tax. It is a rosso red, FULLY deseamed, sportspack arched Mini with 13 x 7 deep dish superlites. It has the filler cap in the boot and a remote release fibre glass bootlid and a fibreglass flip-front on pins under the front arches. Standard 1275 Turbo engine with RS Turbo fuel pump, pretty standard supsension wise with monroe shocks on rubber cones and metro turbo brakes all round. Custom wiring loom with all black interior, metro turbo dashboard with (if the older guys can remember) the MG Montego digital dash display with boost guage roof clock!

Loads of little things modified that I cannot remember, but all in all it was great fun and needs to be back on the road so it can be improved further engine wise......

These are the only pics I have of it from 5 years ago when I started driving. It looks a lot better in the flesh!

Looks good. Any more pictures of the interior?

Unfortunately not, it has bucket seats which need binning as they are really torn. It does have a black suede rear bench though which is original in a certain model and apparently very rare?!? Looks the part anyway.

Im looking at a 130bhp-ish build with a gt15/17 at the minute and intercooler. Hopefully should give excellent in gear pull and driveability. It is on a 3.44 diff at the minute, looking for a longer ratio set that will suit the turbo.

The Metro Challenge set looks good, but im worried the tall first gear would hamper performance but im after a half decent cruising speed also around 3k at 60 so will be needing to use the 3.21 out of the turbo gearbox. I noticed somebody had a quaife LSD on a 2.95:1 which would be ideal really but cannot find any info in it!

Thanks for all the welcomes. Seems a good forum, unlike all the kids on the fiesta forum I am usually on. I also own a 187bhp duratec Fiesta Zetec S track build which will be being sold I think to fund the minis future. Im worried that the Mini will not live up to the Fiesta though in terms of all round performance.

Welcome.

Have a look at some of the 1/4 mile times and 0-60 that the cars on here have and I don't think that you will be dissapointed with performance.

130bhp a 3.2 diff and a minispares clubman geatset would be a cracking motor to drive I reckon *smiley*
