Ok, been looking around and reading everything I can get my hands on and there is so much c**p written about heads that I dont know if I am coming or going.
Is a 940 leaded head worth modding or should I just bite the bulit and buly a "stage 3 or 4" head?
what is the advantage of having a modded head with an 11cc capacity Vs a 20cc capacity, both supposedly stage 4 heads with 31/36 ish valves.
FYI the engine is for use on track only but does need to pick up from low revs, aiming for around 100bhp at this point N/A but open to being tempted by F/I
Many thanks to anyone who can shed some simple light on the madness
Cheers
Mark

If it's only 100hp your looking for stick with a STD head.
Do you intend running an intercooler ? and what sort of boost are you aiming for ?.

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe.

Hi.
I have a N/A engine at the moment so if I am going turbo I need a lot of advice as I dont really know what I would need to buy?
I have no problem running an intercooler and space is not an issue as it is an open engine area.
actually really like the idea on F/I....
tell me more :)

If you clean the chamber casting out to around 25cc then with the STD turbo piston dish of 12cc i think it is you should have around 8.2:1 comp. This with an intercooler and 8-10 psi of boost should give you a good starting point for over 100hp.
I'm sure folks on here will agree and disagree but put something together and run it for a while it's the best way to learn.
