I've just stripped my T3 turbo and noticed that there is no gasket between the two pieces in the picture below

a wipe of firegum will seal this up ok.

They do seem to be available on ebay, I just find it strange that mine didn't have one

Should there also be one on the other side which attaches to the down pipe elbow, as again mine didn't have one

I'd expect a steel shim gasket for both of them. I no he t2 uses steal shim gaskets for every face "Tuning should be a compromise between what is possible and what is necessary"

I just reconed my turbo and it didn't have the 5 stud gasket but did have the 3 stud one. Like you I asked my supplier if there should be one and he said most T3's don't use one. |

Im pretty sure none of mine have had one between the exhaust and wategate housings. But there should be one for the elbow.
