After the incident that I have posted in the show us yours thred it's time to start thinking about the rebuild. Can't make any final decisions until I no what's saveable or what's not.

So.....
I was about to try and run up to about 180-200bhp through the previous engine so for the rebuild I want to leave my self some room for improvement at a later date.

I have 2 engines one totally standard 1275 block and my 1293 fis med engine.

The 1293 will need boring out to atleast 1330 to remove the damage to the bore.
So...
I'm thinkin of using the 1275. Get that freshened up and rebored to 1293. As there is no bore damage atall on that engine.
Im thinking of Use a set of 18cc forged pistons with the sc hbeam rods,as the rod that the valve want on is now stiff to move the piston.

The crank is like new still so assuming it's not twisted or anything il reuse it after some work.
Any more work that might be usefull. ? It's been ni-***( can't spell that) and will be rebalanced.

The camshaft is worn so I need a new cam any recommendations?
The first two pushrods have probably seen better days so il replace them the med forge ones any good?

The head we think will be ok with a refresh and some more head work. O and fresh valves :-p but depends what engineer says.

Timing gear will prob be a vernia alloy one.

I'm open to peoples comments on my thoughts as I no a fair few of you guys know a he'll of alot more than me.

Bad luck :(

I'd say stay with the FIS lump and get it rebored to 1330, more oopmf!

theres no real reason to go to forgies but if funds allow...

the SC rods and MED pushrods are nice, but would the money be better spent elsewhere? ie lamda gauge, head and turbo.

Cam wise there is the ubiqitous avonbar Ph2 that every one uses, or you could try an RE13T,

Whats your budget?

Cant get the 18cc forge in anythin other than +20 apparently.

I have a t2/t25 hybrid that kean built that's good for 21psi+

I have a lamb gauge ready to fit as it was going in when te engine was out in the next weeks so it will be fitted.

I have sccr gearbox sc drops and quafie atb ready to go on

Budget is fair ly open but I don't want Togo spending money for he sake of it. I you no what I mean.

I just thought of another option...

you could get the one dodgy bore sleeved and get back to 1293,

To be honest there is little difference between the fis block and the STD one bar thze 11 stud and the centre strap. Both of which I'd do to the STD block
