Just Finished rebuilding my carb! well i just need to make myself a solid jet holder.. or if anyone has one spare or that they don't need then let me know :)

Now i'm moving onto the needle, bought the carb 2nd hand and don't know what needle it has fitted, is it worth replacing the damper and dashpot spring too while i'm at it?

What needle do you guys recommend?

the spec is:

1293
GT17
8:5.1 CR
Cosworth 2wd intercooler
Standard 12G940 33/29mm
SW5-07 cam
Grey clutch diaphram
hif44
Megajolt

GT ratio box
Straight cut drops
3.1 Fd
x-pin diff

Not sure on what boost i'm going to run, got the standard 4psi actuator fitted and will probably end up fitting a bleed valve. What would be a safe level of boost to run with the spec?

cheers!

Resident Cylinder Head Modifier

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

start with a standard BDD needle, get your car rolling roaded ............. it will only require a touch of a tweak to get the mixture sorted by an experienced operater who is versed wit the SU carb

if the head has not been modded on 16 psi of boost you will get around 145 bhp ... ish with those valve sizes
with larger valve sizes race valves ...etc modded head in the right department your looking at a well set up engine around 180 bhp with16 psi
please keep us up todated james *smiley*

with that cam you have it will pull its tits off from very low boost rpms
and make one killer drivable engine *happy*
