I've personally run over 15psi on them with no probs. They're a very sturdy piston.

WE routinely ran 15psi in the van, and at times 20+ and they where fine. Our CR is around 8.2.

Check your CR calcs, ours is a standard block (flush to the top of the pistons) and a 28cc head and is 8.2ish

wow didnt know they where capable of that much boost!, i think i have messed up my calcs too ap, should be around what yours is then, apart from i havent had the block skimmed (and sit around 1mm down the block?). what kind of power would i expect at 15psi? Im looking for around 140 - 150bhp anything around that mark i'd be happy with. Also would a orange diaphram be up to it, or should i just buy a grey?

cheers, Pete.

15psi will easily achieve the bhp that you want.

If the pistons are sitting 40 thou down the bore you'll have around 4cc of volume there, but you need to measure this accurately to determine exactly how much.
The orange diaphragm will not be suitable, just stick a grey in there.

Our van made 153 bananas on 14-15 psi with a fairly well ported head (valves and guides where fooked) and an mg metro cam.

Being honest, it wasn't that nice to drive at that boost level. When we dropped it to 10-12 it still went like stink but was much nicer to drive.
