changed the head gasget and all seems fine,except it still wont go over 90mph!!! sounds like its miss firing and wont go any faster. what could be causing this?? could it be timing not advance enough??? |

sounds like an igntion fault, could be one of many things.

oh yeah dunno if this means anything but im running a live off the fuse box for the coil and removed that pink one as it made it missfire,standard coil.

No that wont fuck it up, rolling road will tell you if its faulty though. Trust me its well worth the money if you get your car totally checked everywhere, it unlocked 111bhp for me on a standard turbo engine! The guys on here are never wrong.

not sure, from what i've been told about the modules they just break down, mainly when under load but seem fine at idle/ On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

just go down to halfords, buy 1 for 30 squid, fit it. and if that does fcuk all put it back in the box and say it was the wrong 1!

if it only does it at 90 mph, indicates its more of a mixture problem. The increasing load with each gear will be demanding more and more fuel/air.

oh just a check that can cause problems check the vacuum advance/retard pipe is connected to the carb/dizzy. If it is check there are no holes in it, can cause prolems with timing and the fuelling Edited by mikemph on 22nd Mar, 2005. |

fuel pump should be on consant, check the power and earth to the pump On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

spi and mpi's come as a different part number but not sure whether the interfaces are the same.

also takes a few goes to get it started sometimes,even when warm,then slowly starts,and you gota rev it up so it ticks over nicely

that the pump is picking up air and not just fuel. thats why the pumps tend to sound funny.
