hi, my car has an spi wiring loom.

i want to run mj with a carb turbo setup. i have not had a good look at the wiring yet.

i know the mpi looms are front and rear. does anyone know about the spi ones? i was hoping i could unplug the front/engine loom and replace with a carb one to make things easier with the wiring?

i have seen 'front'carb looms for sale on ebay.

is it as simple as unplugging the front/engine loom from the spi and replacing with the carb one?

many thanks

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

It's more a main loom and a bit for the rear. They join at the bulkhead.

If you put a standard carb main loom in you will loose things like the fuel pump wiring.

The loom for the early and late carbs are all in one. While the injection looms are in three parts, main loom, rear loom and engine loom with the MPi having another aditional loom for the SRS.

Removing the bits you don't need from an injection engine loom cab be done, but it would be much better to fit a complete carb loom

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

And give the SPi loom to you? *wink*

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

You can use the main SPi loom and just disconnect the engine loom which feeds all the sensors and ECU but it also connects to the Altenator which you would have to fix up.
