Well after alot of searching, I ended up using Superlite wheels, as they were they only firm I could find that supplied a Mag wheel in a minilite style.

Gav, i beleive magnesium alloy needs tob e phosphate coated to seal the surface, i would suspect you can apply whatever finish coating you like after,

I've no experiance with Superlite or mag wheels but I'd be very interested to know how much they weigh. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

The 3 piece split rim style are 3.3KG, and all I know is the 1 piece are heavier.
