After talking to Neil at SRE today had a few concerns before I start drilling clutches up. Has anyone using RTS had an issue with it wrecking the thrust washers?

I think the theory is that being Verto only 1/3 of the clamping force is transmitted as thrust. So it will be less than the pre-verto grey covers.

Quite the opposite. The load on the thrusts is much lower when using an RTS in comparison to something like a grey diaphragm.

It's the main reason I converted mine.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Now go and enlighten the guys at SRE :) RTS is the way forward! I have all the time in the world for the guys at SRE, but they need to think outside the box a bit more *wink*

Some one needs to manufacture an aluminium verto flywheel *happy*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I don't supose they also asked who built the engine and under what conditions this happened?

It is easy to measure which is easier on the thrusts. All you need to do is set up a double grey pre verto and an RTS, then with a flypress and a decent set of scales, or a hydraulic press with a pressure gauge, measure the force required to operate the clutch. Its no good saying that it is worse when you havent actually done any testing to justify whether it is or not. Im sure there are a few on here that already have, and I myself am gearing up to do more than just this test on the RTS.
