I'v found a bare metty turbo box, block & head complete with crank, pistons, rods etc but without rocker gear, push rods & turbo.

The seller is looking for £300 for the lot. Its only down the road from me which is why im interested. All the others i'v found have been at opposite ends of the country, in Cornwall, Scotland and the very west coast of Wales - sods law.

Apparently its in good nick, has done 55k, turns freely and has only been standing for a month.

Is that a fair price to pay or should i be looking to get it cheaper/expecting to pay more??

Cheers

Offer 250?

Would it be better to target a standard 1275 and go from there or aim for getting a turbo block to start with

depends what your plan is as the block is the same, as far as I know the only difference is the pistons and some of them had a different crank but this was not always true.

depends on condition; i'f your going to re-build it anyway, I'd say its too much.

Shropshire.

To be honest it should have a rebuild as you dont really know the history.. so with that in mind your better off getting a 1275 block and just stripping it replacing old for new.

A bid has been made for less than the asking price. If i get it, il strip it to check for condition, replace any bum parts and get straight on with the build.

Praying it won't need a rebore or new pistons etc!

I'll keep you updated on the outcome!

Somewhere around Swindon

i think 250 is to much if it needs a rebuild
