Hi

I'm using the hard rev limiter board with my MJ v3, but it seems to have stopped working.

If I set it to 3000rpm to test, it revs straight past.

The advance goes to 0 so the soft limiter is activated. I've also checked the voltage from the MJ rev limiter output which drops from nearly 14v to 0v when triggered. The voltage to the coil only drops around 0.5v when on the limiter. I know that it shouldn't cut the voltage altogether, but was expecting it to drop more than this.

I initially thought that I had a wiring problem, but it all seems ok.

Any ideas?

Hmmm,

I've jsut dug up the circuit for the hardcut limiter,

essentially what you have is an 18 Ohm resistor in series with the coil when the hard cut is active, and when the har cut is nt active the FDS681Z shorts the resistors out so the coil see's full voltage,

by my calculations, the voltage should practically drop to zero.

That's the one.

Do you reckon it's fried?

It's only £20ish for a new one.

Well easy, it just slides into the MJ case.

Mines all wired externally too, so it just unplugs :)
