hi guys this is not for me really but for a friend he has a 998 A- and has rebuilt a weber 28/36 new gaskets new jets ect but when he came to fit it he couldnt get the car to tick over it would rev but when let go of the throttle it would die restart car and sounds really lumpy then die unless throttle was opend. before he was using a 1.3/4" su and his car ran great any ideas? i thought maybe not enough fuel to the carb Done now needs redoing lol |

this may be over jetted, for a big bore race engine, does he know the history ?

Wasn't the 28/36 a bit of an economy carb? in which case its not much use against the SU anyways. Edited by george91 on 22nd Apr, 2011. |

cheers guys it is jetted to a tuned 998 according to the holy bible vizard book but i shall advise him to use the su Done now needs redoing lol |

I ran one for a while - it was lovely and smooth on a 998 or 1150 but was jetted for a 1380 and drank fuel like there was no tomorrow.
Metric is for people who can't do fractions. |
