Just removed my blackstuff pads cos im not happy with them, now i dont apply copper clip, no anti squeal shims, and ive never had any squeal from any pads so far, be it 8.4s or 7.5s.

Just put the mintex pads in and done about 15 mile round trip, and im embarrassed to put my foot on the brake pedal, the brakes are good but the noise is really pissing me off.

The pads came with 4 crescent shaped thin foam pads, but i fail to see how that little amount of material can be applied to the back of the pads in any shape or form to do any good. Help?

I have just taken a picture of an old pad and one of the 4 foam pads..

Did you de glaze the discs before fitting the new pads?
I always copperslip the back of new pads. Mine never squeal either.

I gave the discs a good going over with brake and clutch cleaner before fitting the pads, i routinely clean the discs with it too

I have heard that EBC pads contaminate the discs so some production paper to them and to the new pads also as these will have been contamined also - brake cleaner alone will not remove this contamination!

i had a problem similar to this on the pug, just used some fine sandpaper to clean the pads and the disks and it stoped and breaks alot nicer now as well :)
