Been having a few issues with cooling:
I run a minis spares 2core, and I have had issues cooling at speed today. I'm thinking that it must be a rad air flow thing. Looking back it's never been as good since I destroyed my last 2core about 2 years and swapped it for a new one. Previously when you pushed the car it would get cooler, since I have had this new one the cooling hasn't been as good.
I found the water pump was leaking so I swapped it for a new one thinking I had cracked it but had the same issues on the snowdon scatter. When I slowed the car down it just managed to remain at N.

So I'm thinking a radtec is the future?

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I'm thinking about junking my mpi rad set up as it ran cooler with the minispares 2 core one. Even on the rolling road the temperature never climbed above 75 degrees. At combe it never rose at all even though I got the oil temps up to 120 degrees.

mine is not in a turbo, but you get the picture. I reckon they are up to the job.

Maybe its the temperature sensor for my koso dash but I doubt it.

I'm thinking that this one isn't as good as the last? Did they go nla for a while and then the price went up. I wonder if it's for a different batch. Ihave flushed it and everything was clean, the first one was great it never got hot even on the lakes run which is a big test of any car..
I was just thinking if I changed it I might swell go for the radtec?

I'm running a Minispares 4 core on my Turbo motor with no issues and no electric fan. It's never gone above half way. However my Minispares 2 Core used to overheat all the time even with millers super coolant in thats should reduce temps.

as i said in my pm, they keep things nice and cool while your moving, when stuck in traffic they do rise to about half way, but never any more, once you get moving up to 40-50mph temps soon drop back down to the first mark.

I have a 2 core i bought off of here, it struggles to keep the temp down even driving it sensibly!

I'm going to flush the system and see if it helps. I don't have am electric fan but thinking of fitting one as traffic just kills it and it struggles to recover of at all. I only have a 998 turbo so I thought it would cope?

To throw somthing else into the mix...

It has been discussed before that some blocks just run hotter than others, that goes for heads too.

Joec I get what your saying but it used to run cool? Not sure what's going on, are the alloy rads an upgrade in terms of cooling? Side mounted specifically?

Did you chang your ignition map at all when it started running hot? I found with my old mini that if it was too far advanced it would run really really hot.

I have a Radtec and would not waste my money on any alloy radiator again

I seriously doubt it!

Mm I have don't some work on it this morning, I have removed the rad and flushed it again and all clear, I noticed some moly grease on it from the a gater split last yea I have given it a good clean.

I have put the two blade fan back in with the electric and gone for a long run and everything seems back to normal.
I ran it last year without the mech two blade and it was ok,... Maybe it wasnjust too ht yesterday.
Anyway the extra airflow is helping just to push it back not the safety zone. I did think that at 60 the airflow into the grill was better than a fan but in this case maybe not?

Andy. Haven't changed the ignition map.

Who knows but in my case the ken Lowe isn't engough on it's own. Maybe creating one of those fancy air ducts would help? But will leave as it i. Hopefully get some more testing done before l2b

Paul w you must have an alloy rad in that all alloy car of yours, it would be a sin not to have one.

On a side note I found if the car did get a little hot, overcame the cap and spat some water out, you start to loose the battle to keep it cool
